Library units for off-site loans can be ordered through:

Dispatching

The dispatch time depends on the type of document ordered and the place where it is stored. The call number overview provides detailed information on ordering publications from different parts of the collection and their dispatch time.

Library units from the Universal Library Collection (ULC) stored in the Klementinum are usually ready for study within 2 hours of ordering.

ULC units stored in the Hostivař depository are dispatched twice a day on weekdays: units ordered from 12 PM to 8 AM are available in the morning and units ordered from 8 AM to 12 PM are available in the afternoon.

If the unit is listed as "longer dispatching", the dispatch time may be extended by the time it takes to process and enter the unit data into the online catalogue. Unit availability information may also change based on processing.

Conditions for off-site loans:

  • deadline for checking out reserved library items - 14 days in the Main Hall, 7 days in the Self-service pickup locker
  • essential lending period - 30 days
  • borrowing limit - 20 library units
  • the loan period can be extended before the end of the loan period - online in the user’s account, or by e-mail, in person, or by phone
  • the loan period can be extended multiple times unless another user requests the unit, for a maximum of 120 days. You must then return the loaned item or re-request the loan of the item.
  • borowing is also now possible through the Self-service pickup locker located in front of the entrance A to the NL CR
  • returns - in addition to the Main Hall, units can be returned to the Return box (in this case, however, only books from the NL CR collections or the Slavonic Library)
  • if the lending period is exceeded, the NL CR charges overdue fees
