Specialised research library for Slavonic studies. It acquires, catalogues, manages, preserves, and makes accessible the collection of world Slavic literature, especially in history, philology, and political science, as well as original literary works by Slavic authors. The collection includes special collections of images, manuscripts, and art, as well as electronic databases of Slavic content. The library engages in professional bibliographic and publishing activities and organises cultural events, professional seminars, conferences and exhibitions. It cooperates with Slavic specialist departments and libraries in the Czech Republic and abroad and is involved in research and development.
