It is possible to return off-site loans from the collection of the National Library of the Czech Republic (including the Library of Library Literature) and off-site loans from the collection of the Slavic Library through the library return box.
The return box is used to return off-site loans preferably when the library is closed to the public. It is accessible during the opening of the Clementinum complex.
Off-site loans from the collection of the National Library of the Czech Republic (including the Library of Library Literature) or the Slavonic Library, which are in the form of CDs, DVDs or library items borrowed from other libraries as part of interlibrary loan services, cannot be returned to the bibliobox. These off-site loans can only be returned directly to the relevant departments of the National Library of the Czech Republic and the Slavonic Library.
How to return a document inserted into the return box.
- When a user inserts a library item into the return box, it is not returned at that moment.
- It is only returned on the next working day after the user has placed the item in the return box if the item is undamaged (in the condition in which it was borrowed).
- The user shall verify the return of library items by consulting his/her Reader Account.
- The timely return of an undamaged library item will fulfill and terminate the borrowing agreement.
- Damaged or incomplete documents will not be considered returned and will remain recorded on the user's account as an off-site borrowing. In this case, the user will be asked to pay for the damage.
- Returning books through the return box does not relieve the user of the obligation to pay any late fees or compensation for damage to the document. The loan period is not automatically extended for the remaining unreturned documents.
