Provides specialised library services in the field of historical collections and the history of book culture.
Supplements, processes, manages and makes accessible the historical collections of the NLCR and participates in creating a virtual research environment for working with them. Builds and manages the subject reference library, processes and edits the national retrospective bibliography “Knihopis”. Participates in the professional publishing and exhibition activities of the NLCR, is involved in research and development in the history of book culture and cultural heritage, creates methodologies for cataloguing historical collections, and issues certificates for the export of objects of cultural value in the field of book culture.
