The NLCR offers free tours to orient users to the space and services and training to familiarize them with the information resources and services offered.
The Library User's Guide to the NLCR
An orientation tour of the Klementinum for new users (spaces and services).
The Library User's Guide to the NLCR is a guided tour of the Klementinum premises focusing on the rules, specific services, and locations of individual reading rooms. The walk is intended for individuals and small groups of up to six people and does not focus on the history of Klementinum or give a tour of the historical premises. The tour takes place from Monday to Thursday at 10:00 and 16:00, or by appointment.
Orientation training in the resources of the NLCR
Training on the use of electronic information resources with a focus on the use of information resources of the NLCR is provided for individuals and groups at the Reference Centre or online, always by appointment. This is an initial training session lasting approximately 1-2 hours. It is open to users with a valid NLCR library card (the limit for one training session is a maximum of ten people). Interested parties can book by e-mail or via the form below.
In addition to the individual training sessions listed above, training sessions can be arranged for groups of users (e.g. study groups) for a specific time and topic (see below).
Basic training is conducted in Czech; training in English can also be arranged.
Training topics can be tailored to individual user interests. Training sessions can cover the following topics:
- NLCR resources (online databases, NLCR catalogues)
- digital libraries
- the Knihovny.cz portal
- basics of search strategies
- training on using NLCR resources
