Internet access on the computers of the NLCR for registered users and visitors with a one-day pass.

Internet access on library computers 

The NLCR offers registered users access to the Internet on selected computers in the reading rooms upon presentation of a valid library card.

*Selected resources of the NLCR* can also be used by visitors with a one-day pass.

Computers with internet access are intended primarily for searching the NLCR catalogues or for using licensed databases, digital libraries, and other electronic information resources.

Each of the reading rooms has set rules for computer use and internet access. Computers in the Reference Centre can be reserved through a *reader account*.

The staff of the NLCR does not provide instruction on the use of the free Internet (e.g. making financial transactions, placing advertisements), using graphic programs (such as photo editing and video editing), etc.  The use of banking and other applications with access to the user's financial and other accounts is at the user's own risk, and the NCLR is not responsible for any leakage or misuse of data from applications with access to the user's personal details and data.

Wi-Fi Connection

Wi-Fi internet access in the premises of the NLCR for registered users and visitors with a one-day ticket.

Wi-Fi is available on the NLCR premises for NLCR users, visitors with a one-day ticket, and other visitors.

Technical parameters of the STUDOVNA Wi-Fi network:

  1. An open network with limits on speed, range of services, and size of downloads.
  2. Traffic on the Wi-Fi network is not encrypted, meaning transmitted data is not secure. Sensitive information must be secured at the application level (e.g. https protocol).
  3. The network does not require a password to connect.
  4. Some network services (ssh) are not accessible.

The Wi-Fi network offers access to the open Internet, the NLCR's information pages, online catalogues and other NLCR databases, the scanned catalogue, and other freely available resources, which do not require users to log in.

To use *licensed resources* and *out-of-market works* in the *National Digital Library* and other *digital libraries*, you must first log in to remote access.

The NLCR does not provide users with a device to access the Internet via Wi-Fi. The NLCR also does not provide technical support to those users who use Wi-Fi on their own equipment.
