The database of contemporary and historical librarians.
The database offers short biographies of contemporary and historical librarians, thanks to which the interested reader gets acquainted with their lives and the development of librarianship and information science in the Czech territory from the 16th century to the present day. It currently contains over 2,000 biographical entries.
The database contains personalities who were born or died in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia and worked in libraries in our territory or abroad, as well as personalities who were not born or died in our territory but worked in libraries in our territory.
From the end of November 2023, the Dictionary is available in the form of open data (see also the pages dedicated to open data). There is also a description of the structure of the database and the entries contained in it.
