Provides reference, reprographic, and interlibrary services; makes electronic information resources available. It is also the national centre for interlibrary services in the Czech Republic.
The department provides reference services, including research services, both in the Reference Centre and online, as well as interlibrary loan (ILL) services within the Czech Republic and internationally. It provides access to electronic information resources, digital libraries and the Internet, and provides training in their use. In cooperation with other libraries, it operates virtual reference services such as Ask the Library. It is the national centre of interlibrary services of the Czech Republic, representing the Czech Republic in this area in negotiations with national centres of other countries and international organisations. It builds and manages the Reference Centre's library and runs the Study and Relaxation Zone and Team Study Rooms. Services include self-service copying and copy-on-demand services, as well as eBooks on Demand.
