Manages the National Archival Collection (NAC) and arranges dispatching from the NAC for researchers.
The department manages and makes available the NAC, assigns call numbers, prepares books for circulation, and selects publications for binding. It also builds and maintains local catalogues and records and proposes the inclusion of documents in the NAC. It provides bibliographic information, consulting, and advisory services in the field of bohemical literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. It ensures the operation of a specialised study room for archival collections in the Hostivař Central Depository. It is involved in projects of digitisation, preservation, and mapping of library collections.
