Provides descriptive cataloguing of domestic and foreign book production, including continuing resources.
Catalogues domestic and foreign book production and some types of continuing resources of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries added to the collections of the NLCR in accordance with valid international (national) standards. Manages the database of books and serials in the NLCR electronic catalogue and the Czech National Bibliography. Serves as the national CIP (Cataloguing in Publication) agency; coordinates shared and cooperative Czech book cataloguing projects. Serves as a methodological and consultancy workplace for descriptive cataloguing and name authorities and participates in research and development. The department also includes the OPAC Online Library Catalogue Management Department, which provides ongoing recataloguing of the living collection of the NLCR (REŽIFO) and participates in managing the online catalogue database of the NLCR.
